Doshisha Biwako Retreat Center Doshisha Biwako Retreat Center

Doshisha Biwako Retreat Center and Banseisodo are facilities that serve as an off-campus classroom, as well as a place of retreat and recreation, for the members of the Doshisha University community. Doshisha Biwako Retreat Center was established on the shore of Lake Biwa in 2000, as part of the 125th anniversary of the university’s foundation, to serve as a facility for the activities of Doshisha’s Christian-based education and also as a gathering place for international exchange events. Banseisodo, located on the shore of Lake Yamanaka, is a building associated with Soho Tokutomi. The building, surrounded by a rich natural environment away from city noise, is used by students, alumni, faculty and staff as a place for relaxing and refreshing.
