Consideration regarding infectious diseases
In accordance with the School Health and Safety Act and the Detailed Regulations for Enforcement of the School Health and Safety Act, Doshisha University suspends those who are or may be infected with any of the “Infectious Diseases Prevented in School” from attending school in order to prevent infection from spreading on campus.
By following the designated procedures below, students who missed a class or examination due to infection with such diseases will be given a special consideration and will not be disadvantaged by the suspension.

If you were absent from a class
Obtain a medical certificate or the prescribed “Medical Certificate: Infectious Diseases Prevented in School” below from the medical institution where you received treatment, and submit it together with the Report of Absence to your lecturer (photocopy of the certificate is accepted as well).
The Report of Absence is available at your faculty office. -
If you were absent from an examination
Obtain a medical certificate or the prescribed “Medical Certificate: Infectious Diseases Prevented in School” below from the medical institution where you received treatment, contact the office of your affiliated faculty or the Center for Academic Affairs on either campus Contact within the designated period and follow the instructions. Also regarding report submission, make sure to contact one of the above offices by the deadline and follow the instructions.

※You need to attach either one of this certificate or a medical certificate issued by a medical institution when submitting the Report of Absence or the Application for Makeup Examination form.
What are Infectious Diseases Prevented in School?
“Infectious Diseases Prevented in School” are the following diseases stipulated in Article 18 of Detailed Regulations for Enforcement of the School Health and Safety Act.
