EU Campus Introduction
EU Campus office
Doshisha has established EU Campus at the University of Tübingen in Germany. It serves as a hub for our activities in the area of education and research not only in Germany but all of Europe.
EU Campus office combines office spaces and a students’ lounge equipped with video conferencing systems and a small library comprised of German and Japanese books. An administrative staff from Doshisha University reside at EU Campus office, who is expected to work and assist our faculties and students staying onsite and serves as a contact person to the University of Tübingen.
The University of Tübingen and the City of Tübingen
The University of Tübingen, which boasts a long tradition, is in the center of Europe, and is one of the centers of academic research for students and researchers from various countries in the world. About 28,000 students are gathered from Germany and all over the world, who study at the University of Tübingen in the City of Tübingen, which has a population of approximately 90,000 people. So nearly one third of the population is related to the University’s activilies, For example, students, faculty and staff.
The University of Tübingen was established in 1477. The University is comprised of 7 faculties such as, Faculty of Protestant Theology, Faculty of Catholic Theology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science. The university is considered to be one of the best universities in Germany and ranked in the 94th in The World University Rankings in 2018. It has been awarded “Excellence Univerity” in 2012, one of 11 excellence univerities in Germany.
