The first Doshisha Week was held in the University of Tübingen

The first Doshisha Week, co-hosted by the University of Tübingen and Doshisha University, was held at the University of Tübingen from November 25th to 29th, 2019.
Doshisha Week was initiated to promote research exchange between the two universities, responding to the establishment of the Doshisha EU Campus at Tübingen University. Three research symposia in the topics of “Doshisha Space-DREAM Project”, “Modernity’s Challenges to Law and Dispute Resolution”, and “Baby Science” were held, and about 50 researchers and professionals from 10 countries, such as Japan, Germany, and other regions in Asia and Europe, gathered together to give their lectures on these topics.
Prof. Dr. Bernd Engler, President of the University of Tübingen, and Prof. Ryuichi Yokogawa, Vice President and Dean of Organization for Research Initiatives and Development of Doshisha University, gave speeches regarding research and educational cooperation between the both universities to be developed further.
Students of Doshisha University also positively participated in the symposia. Ms. Yo Ouchi, a graduate school student of Science and Engineering, gave a presentation in the symposium of “Doshisha Space-DREAM Project”, and Mr. Itsuto Tokuda, a graduate school student of Law studying at the University of Sheffield (the United Kingdom) in the Double Degree Program, attended a session about International Dispute Resolution in the symposium of “Modernity’s Challenges to Law and Dispute Resolution”.
