[Deadline: May 22nd] Wi-Fi Router Loaner Program for Online Classes Final Call for Applications

Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, Doshisha University has decided to offer classes during the spring semester via the Internet, and has asked students to prepare the necessary equipment for the classes. We believe that there are some students who have difficulty taking the online classes because of their specific Internet connection environment.

Hence, we have decided to provide a Wi-Fi router (a “Loaner Wi-Fi Router,” 40GB/month model) for our students (excluding students of Business School) who do not currently have an Internet connection that allows them to take online classes and who are unable to maintain or obtain a suitable Internet connection due to various circumstances. We had been accepting applications until May 15th (Fri.), but depending on the situation, there may be more students who need a loaner Wi-Fi router, so we extend the application period until May 22 (Fri.). However, Wi-Fi routers are currently in short supply. As the University has a limited number of them available, we may not be able to accommodate everyone's requests.

Since we would like to provide Loaner Wi-Fi routers to students with a high degree of urgency and necessity, please refrain from applying for this service if you already have sufficient Internet connection and would like to apply just as a backup.

This measure will be limited to "3 months" in order to respond in an emergency situation.

[How to Apply]
Please apply from the following website.
Please note that only those who comply with the terms and conditions mentioned on the following website and agree to the cautions are eligible to apply.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has issued a request to telecommunication carriers to secure a communication environment for students' studies due to the expanding impact of the novel coronavirus infection. The careers are providing necessary data capacity support. Please check the status of the carriers you have a contract with.
