Workplace (University) COVID-19 Vaccinations at the Doshisha

Updated Jun. 24, 2021
In line with the policy announced by the Japanese government to start COVID-19 vaccinations at workplaces and universities, the Doshisha (headquartered in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City; Eiji Hatta, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees) has decided to fully cooperate with the government’s initiative by administering vaccinations to about 40,000 eligible students, faculty, staff, and others.
In compliance with social demand to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Doshisha will proceed with its workplace (on-campus) vaccination program. The program is designed to enable classes and student activities to be conducted without restrictions at each school of the Doshisha and help ease the burden on local municipalities of providing inoculations.
Details, such as the specific method of implementing the vaccinations, will be announced as soon as they are determined.

[Overview]
  • Start date: Thursday, July 1, 2021 (planned)
The program is scheduled to be launched as soon as the Moderna vaccines are provided to us.
  • Venue: Imadegawa and Kyotanabe Campuses of Doshisha University
  • Eligibility: approximately 40,000 students, faculty, staff, and others (planned)
(Note)
  • Given that the Moderna vaccine is approved for use in people aged 18 years and older, university students and older adults are eligible to receive the vaccine.
  • Please also note that inoculation is voluntary and not mandatory in any way.
