In response to the lifting of Kyoto Prefecture’s Stronger COVID-19 Preventive Measures

Updated Jul. 14, 2021
July 12, 2021
To Students, Faculty and Staff,
UEKI Tomoko, President
(Director, Emergency Task Force)

As you know, the “Stronger COVID-19 Preventive Measures” applied in Kyoto Prefecture are lifted as of July 11 at 24:00. Accordingly, “Doshisha University Action after the Lifting of the State of Emergency [No.15 Notice]” is also abolished as of July 11 at 24:00.
However, in light of the impact of variant viruses including the Delta variant, as well as of the re-declaration of the state of emergency in Tokyo and the extension of the “Stronger COVID-19 Preventive Measures” in Osaka and several other prefectures, we need to continue to pay utmost attention to preventing the resurgence of infections.
In this regard, all activities at Doshisha University will continue to be carried out in accordance with the “Doshisha University Guidelines for Preventing Spread of Infection of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) (4th Edition)” after July 12, with effective preventive measures in place. We ask our students, faculty and staff to please refer to and follow the “Guide to Preventing Spread of Infection of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)” in your daily activities both on and outside of the campus.
With the lifting of No.15 Notice, the matters specified in the Notice will now be handled in accordance with the above-mentioned Guidelines. As for class management, however, the current measures will remain in effect in view of the fact that less than a month is left now until the Spring Semester ends. Students should follow the instructions of the respective instructors of the courses they are taking.
