Guide to Preventing Spread of Infection of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Doshisha University
Having experienced the pandemic of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we need to practice new forms of learning and education at the same time as preventing spread of infection through the “new normal” lifestyle.
For this purpose, we have established the “Doshisha University Guidelines for Preventing Spread of Infection of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19),” with which we continue to proceed with our educational and research activities.
However, in order to prevent spread of infection, each of us must think what we should do as members of the local community and take actions to prevent ourselves from becoming infected or infecting others.
Below is the list of what we should always be cautious and practice as part of the university community and management. Please follow these guidelines in your daily life and on-campus activities.
Conditions for suspension of attendance are subject to change depending on the situation of spread of infection in the future. Any future changes will be posted on the university’s website, so please check it regularly.
1.Thorough practice of measures to prevent spread of infection
(1)Continue the basic infection prevention measures for each person
(2)Reduce the risk of infection during eating and drinking
(3)Act cautiously and avoid the risk of infection when going out
(4)Consult with a medical institution if you feel unwell
- wearing a mask correctly
- washing hands frequently
- disinfecting hands and fingers with disinfectants installed outside facilities when going out
- Keep a physical distance of at least 1 meter between people and refrain from talking loudly.
- Keep an appropriate room temperature and humidity and ventilate the room frequently.
(2)Reduce the risk of infection during eating and drinking
- Dine at places certified for taking appropriate infection prevention measures.
- Limit the group size to 4 people per table.
- Wear a mask correctly when talking and refrain from talking loudly.
- Do not stay for a long time and limit the time to 2 hours.
(3)Act cautiously and avoid the risk of infection when going out
- Consider postponing a plan of going out, a trip home, a holiday trip or a business trip when there is an increasing trend of infections.
- Go out in a small group of family members or people you usually spend time with, and avoid crowded places and peak times.
- When attending an event that is expected to attract a large crowd, act cautiously and follow the basic infection prevention measures thoroughly.
(4)Consult with a medical institution if you feel unwell
- If you feel even slightly unwell, do not hesitate to consult with a medical institution.
- Have the courage to stay home and rest without pushing yourself.
