Address at the “DDASH Hacks” Awards Ceremony
On February 25, I attended the awards ceremony for the Doshisha University-hosted hackathon “DDASH Hacks” held at the Ryoshin-kan Learning Commons on the Imadegawa Campus.
A hackathon is an event where teams form to intensively develop software or services within a short timeframe based on a specific theme, competing on the results.
This was the first time we held such an event, providing a practical opportunity for students to apply the skills they acquired through our educational programs in mathematics, data science, and AI, such as “DDASH (Doshisha Approved Program for Data Science and AI Smart Higher Education).”
On the day, ten teams selected from numerous applicants gave their final presentations, and among them, the winning groups received awards.
We hope our students will acquire the ability to take on any challenge and spread their wings to contribute to society.
