Institute for Study of Humanities and Social Sciences
The institute was founded in 1944 for the purpose of promoting theoretical, historical and applied studies in the fields of humanities and social sciences, and of contributing to academic research in Japan.
The institute’s main functions are the following;
- Developing interdisciplinary research programs
- Publishing ongoing research projects in periodicals and books
- Arranging public lectures and symposiums
- Collecting and arranging various research materials related to the humanities and social sciences, and making them available to faculty, students, and the general public.
