President's Daily Report
Homecoming Day Held
On November 9th, Homecoming Day 2025 was held at the Doshisha University Imadegawa Campus. This year's event was held concurrently with the Doshisha Alumni Association's Grand Reunion as part of the 150th Anniversary of Doshisha's founding.
The opening featured an opening declaration by Vice President Shibata of the Doshisha Alumni Association, who served as the chair of the Executive Committee. This was followed by a graduation ceremony for the March 2020 graduates, whose ceremonies had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the ceremony, I delivered a congratulatory message, and Professor Matsuoka (then President, now Alumni Association Chairman) also offered words of celebration.
Afterwards, I participated in a dialogue titled “The First Period of the 150th Year” with Mr. Masahiko Uotani, former Representative Director, Chairman, and CEO of Shiseido Co., Ltd.
Additionally, various events took place, including student performances, panel discussions, and a live jazz performance.
I believe all participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Unfortunately, the weather brought rain, but many people attended. It became a day when they revisited their cherished alma mater and felt both the present and the future of Doshisha University.
