Attending the Prayer Service for the Founder's Day of Passing
January 23rd marks the day Joseph Hardy Neesima, founder of Doshisha, passed away. Every year, the School Juridical Person Doshisha holds a prayer service.
Today, the Prayer Service for the Founder's Day of Passing was held at the Doshisha Cemetery on the crest of Nyakuoji, beginning at 9:00 AM, and I attended.
At the prayer service, I gave an address titled “Passing on the 150-Year History and Spirit of Doshisha.”
Additionally, during the service, members of Doshisha University's “Chor Maple” and the “Doshisha University Mixed Choir C.C.D” performed the “Doshisha University Anthem” in chorus.
Students from Tamkang Senior High School in Taiwan, which has deep ties with Doshisha, also attended the prayer service.
Many others were present, and together with those connected to the event, we shared a time of prayer and fellowship.
