Visit to the Indian Institute of Technology Madras
On 12 February, we visited our partner institution, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).
Located in Chennai, southern India, IIT Madras is one of India's premier universities and one of the nation's eight Institutes of Eminence. Our university signed a comprehensive inter-institutional agreement with them in May 2025.
After receiving an explanation of IIT's history and campus at the Heritage Centre, we met with members of the Global Engagement team. We engaged in a wide-ranging exchange of information, covering topics such as the strengths of their science and engineering research and their students' career paths.
Following lunch, we exchanged views with faculty members from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
We were given a tour of the startup facilities (Incubation Cell) and explored the vast campus, rich in nature and wildlife (deer, monkeys, wild birds, etc.), travelling by cart. It proved to be a highly productive visit.
We intend to continue strengthening collaboration with our overseas partner institutions and promote effective international expansion.
