Attended the Kyotanabe-Doshisha Human College
On July 11, I attended the Kyotanabe-Doshisha Human College in Room 105 of Building 2, Chishinkan, on the Kyotanabe Campus. The event has been held since 1993 to foster collaboration between the local community and the university.
Today’s session was the final one in this academic year’s five-part series. Mr. Hirokazu Koeda, a researcher at the Doshisha University Center for Historical Materials, delivered a lecture titled “Doshisha and Kyotanabe: Tracing the Historical Connections.”
Following the lecture, as part of the “Commemorative Dialogue for the 40th Anniversary of the Opening of Doshisha University’s Kyotanabe Campus,” Mayor Kamimura of Kyotanabe City and I held a discussion titled “Future Community Contributions as Envisioned by Kyotanabe City and Doshisha.” During the discussion, we explored future prospects and reflected on the relationship between Doshisha University and Kyotanabe City to date.
Many people, including local residents, came to listen, and together we reflected on the history of Doshisha and Kyotanabe City.
The Doshisha University Kyotanabe Campus opened in 1986, making this a memorable year marking its 40th anniversary. We will continue to deepen our collaboration with Kyotanabe City, local businesses, and the community.
