Visit by Mr. Matius Ho
On August 27, Mr. Matius Ho, founder and executive director of the Leimena Institute in Indonesia, visited Japan, and I met with him along with Vice President Kihara.
Mr. Matius Ho is visiting Japan as part of the “Short-Term Invitation Program for Cultural Figures” organized by the Japan Foundation, an independent administrative agency. The visit was arranged at the invitation of the Japan Foundation.
Mr. Matius Ho is actively involved in a wide range of activities in Indonesia, a multicultural and multireligious society, and has earned high acclaim even outside Indonesia, having previously delivered a lecture at the “G20 World Religious Summit.”
During his visit, we discussed Japanese history, culture, and religion and spent a meaningful time together.
