Participated in the Niijima Juku Retreat (Final Day)
On August 30, I participated in the final day of the Niijima Juku Retreat at the Doshisha Biwako Retreat Center.
In the morning, we held a worship service in the chapel. During the service, we listened to a sermon by Assistant Professor Shunsuke Sugita of the School of Theology and shared a time of prayer with all participants.
In the first session that followed, Professor Takuwa of the Faculty of Science and Engineering delivered a lecture titled “Environmental Issues: Reflections Based on Examples of Current Social Challenges.”
In the second session, as a wrap-up, we held a discussion with Vice President Goto, who also serves as the Niijima Juku coordinator, Professor Takuwa, and Dr. Takayuki Terai, Chairman of the Institute of Integrated Energy Engineering, who had joined us as a lecturer on the second day.
During the discussion, students asked many questions, leading to a meaningful exchange of ideas.
I hope that through these three days of learning, all participating students gained new insights.
