“Doshisha Day—A Gathering of Young Alumni” Held
On September 5, we held “Doshisha Day—A Gathering of Young Alumni” at XEX WEST in Osaka.
This event has been held since the 2022 academic year and is aimed at young alumni aged 39 and under. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for participants to meet new like-minded individuals across generations and industries and to deepen their connections.
In addition to the event in Osaka, we plan to hold similar gatherings in Tokyo in October and in Fukuoka in March.
Approximately 150 young alumni attended this year’s event in Osaka.
Three representatives from the Doshisha Alumni Association, our co-host, were also in attendance: Vice President Shibata, Osaka Branch President Kubo, and Osaka Branch Auditor Shimizu. Some attendees were returning for their second time—having participated in last year’s event—and they engaged in lively discussions alongside new participants.
In my opening remarks, I emphasized that our university continues to provide alumni with opportunities for connection and learning even after graduation, and that the achievements of our alumni are a source of pride for our university. During the event, I had the opportunity to speak with many attendees and exchange views. It was a valuable experience that allowed me to witness the successful endeavors of our alumni.
I hope that many people will also participate in the events in Tokyo and Fukuoka.
