Title: Attending the T.I.M.E. Association General Assembly
From September 30, to October 3, our university is hosting the General Assembly of the T.I.M.E. Association (Top International Managers in Engineering).
The T.I.M.E. Association is an international consortium established through inter-university cooperation in Europe to contribute to the development of internationally competitive talent in the field of engineering, primarily through the promotion of dual-degree programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. It currently comprises 60 member institutions across 27 countries.
Our university joined the association in 2015; in Japan, Yokohama National University and Keio University are also members.
This marks the first time since 2015 that the T.I.M.E. Association General Assembly has been held in Japan, and our university was selected to host the event. Preparations were led primarily by the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Office of International Affairs, and approximately 130 participants attended this General Assembly.
At the start of the General Assembly, I delivered a welcome address while introducing Kyoto and Doshisha University. I noted that Doshisha University’s Imadegawa Campus faces the Imperial Palace and Shokoku-ji Temple, placing it in a location of special historical and cultural significance. During lunch, participants were treated to a traditional tea ceremony.
I hope this event will not only serve as an opportunity for participants to learn about our university’s educational and research activities but also as a forum for lively exchanges of ideas that will lead to new collaborative relationships.
