Today, the opening ceremony for the “57th Labor Leadership Course,” organized by the Japan Council of Metalworkers' Unions (JCM), was held at the Kansai Seminar House in Kyoto City. I attended in my capacity as Honorary Principal.

The JCM Leadership Course is designed for employees of companies affiliated with JCM, and this year’s session has 30 participants. Since our university played a significant role in the course’s inception, many of our faculty members serve as instructors each year.

The opening ceremony began with a shinobue flute performance by two members of the Reigetsu School.
In my address, I spoke about the importance of reflecting on oneself from a new perspective through extraordinary experiences, as well as the historical relationship between the labor union movement and Christianity.

This course will be held as a 17-day residential training program starting today. I hope this course will be a fruitful experience for each and every participant.
