Niijima Juku Guidance Session Held
On October 20, a guidance session was held at the Ryoshinkan Learning Commons to recruit students for the 2027 academic year (8th term) of Niijima Juku, and I participated as the director.
The session was conducted online in conjunction with the Learning Commons at the Larned Memorial Library on the Kyotanabe campus, and I provided an overview to first- and second-year students in attendance.
In my opening remarks, I highlighted the life of Jo Niijima (Joseph Hardy Neesima) and his boundary-crossing intellectual curiosity, explaining that Niijima Juku aims to cultivate leaders for the next generation—individuals equipped with comprehensive knowledge who transcend the boundaries between the humanities and sciences.
Admission begins in April 2027, and we are accepting 15 students.
I sincerely hope that many students will take an interest in this program and rise to the challenge.
