Report: "Let's go to KAIYUKAN!" (presented by SIED)

Updated Dec. 6, 2022
Hello, we're SIED!

In October 22nd in 2022, we held an event "Let's go to KAIYUKAN!"
We had 5 local and 6 international students, 11 participants in total in this event. We visited one of the biggest aquariums in the world, Kaiyukan in Osaka! Surprisingly, it was the first-time experience for most of us to go there.

The time and path we took to go to the aquarium, participants had lots of chats, fun and they took lots of pictures.
When we got inside the aquarium, participants had fun conversations while watching wide variety of fish and other animals. They also taught each other animals in their countries. Especailly, participants were so excited to see a big whale shark, which is the most popular fish in Kaiyukan. They also taught each other how to say "whale shark" in English and Chinese.
In addition, participants were obsessed to see adorable baby seals and tried to find correct answers to quizzes about fish SIED staff gave.
And lastly, it wasn’t just the participants that were able to build their bond, but we, SIED staff, were also able to become good friends with the participants too.
We are very thankful for the participants that joined us that day.
After the event, participants told us like, "I made new friends!" and "We saw beautiful fish and enjoyed international exchange!".

SIED will continue to hold many events you can interact internationally and make wonderful encounters under COVID-19 infection prevention. We look forward to your participation♪
