[Research News] A New Japanese Study Investigates How Tariff Policies Influence Long-Run Economic Growth

Professor Colin Davis from the Institute for the Liberal Arts and Professor Hashimoto of Kobe University employed a two-country model to examine how import tariffs influence productivity growth across countries. The findings show that, depending on location and economic conditions, similar tariff policies can lead to very different outcomes. Understanding these trade-offs enables policymakers to design strategies that foster long-term growth and deliver better results.
