The Special Dialogue between the Presidents of the University of Tübingen and Doshisha University

On Friday, November 28, 2025, the special presidents’ dialogue was held at The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike, Tea House CHARYO, featuring President Katsuhiro Kohara, and President Karla Pollmann of the University of Tübingen, who had been invited as a distinguished guest to attend the Doshisha 150th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony.
The dialogue was conducted in German and Japanese, with simultaneous interpretation provided throughout the session.
Vice President Kihara moderated the discussion.
During the dialogue, the two presidents reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and extensive history of exchange that the two universities have cultivated over more than three decades. Grounded in their shared values and their common perspectives on education and research, the discussion offered a valuable opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views on future prospects.
It is anticipated that this meeting will serve as a catalyst for further strengthening the collaboration between the two universities. As long-standing strategic partners that have contributed significantly to each other’s development, Doshisha University and the University of Tübingen are expected to continue advancing cooperation in education, research, and international exchange.
