[Book Announcement] “Japanese Migration to Canada, 1877–1988” in Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Migration Studies

An article by Professor Masumi Izumi, "Japanese Migration to Canada, 1877–1988," published in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Migration Studies, offers a deeply researched account of Japanese migration to Canada, from the first documented migrant's arrival in 1877 to the historic 1988 formal redress settlement. Drawing on decades of scholarship, Professor Izumi’s work reframes this experience not as an isolated narrative, but as a central chapter in the broader North American history of settler colonialism, labor migration, citizenship, and civil rights.
