Conference : Doshisha University
The conference will take place across Doshisha University’s two main campuses: Day 1 and Day 3 at the Imadegawa Campus, and Day 2 at the Kyotanabe Campus. The Imadegawa Campus is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Kyoto Station by subway with no transfers. The Kyotanabe Campus is approximately 30km south of Kyoto Station. For Day 2, a chartered bus will depart from in front of Kyoto Tower Hotel, which will be the official accommodation recommended by the organizers during the GA. After the conference, shuttle service will also be available from the Kyotanabe Campus directly to the Gala Dinner venue in Kyoto City.

Gosho Walk (Day1) : Kyoto Imperial Palace
Located just across a single street south of our Imadegawa Campus. Once the residence of Japan’s emperors until 1869, the palace complex now sits within the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden and remains a venue for important court-related ceremonies. For our community, Gosho is more than a historic landmark—it is part of daily life, a place to stroll and experience Kyoto’s changing seasons.”

Cocktail Reception (Day1) : Amherst House
Amherst House was built in 1932 by architect William M. Vories, funded by friends of Amherst College in the United States, where Doshisha’s founder, Jo Neesima, was an alumnus. This makes Amherst House a building of great significance to Doshisha University. Furthermore, in 2005, it was officially registered as a Tangible Cultural Property in Japan.

Gala Dinner (Day2) : Ganko Takasegawa Nijoen
This renowned traditional Japanese kaiseki restaurant occupies the former riverside villa of the prestigious merchant Suminokura Ryōi, originally built in 1611 alongside the Takase River. The founder and the current president of Ganko are proud graduates of Doshisha University.

Shokoku-ji Visit (Day3) : Shokoku-ji
The major Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, founded in 1382 by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. It is the head temple of the Shokoku-ji school of the Rinzai sect and ranks second among Kyoto’s Five Great Zen Temples. The temple complex, known for its cultural treasures and influence on Zen arts, is located immediately north of our Imadegawa Campus.
